Beauty of Bolinao

I was born in the city, but raised both in the City and province. My family originally lives in Pangasinan, but because we were studying, we lived in Marikina and only back in Pangasinan to spend our vacation every summer. And as my very first blog, I wanted to share the beauty and treasure of my hometown.

St. James the Great Parish Church a 405 years old church and located the very center of the Bolinao.

Bolinao is located at the end of Pangasinan. It usually takes 5-6 hours ride from Manila. A third class municipality and people generally speaks Ilocano, Tagalog and our very own dialect, Bolinao. Every summer, a lot of tourist visits Bolinao because of the very popular white sand beach.

The white sand beach or commonly known as Patar beach is located at Brgy. Patar. A 30-45 minutes ride from the Bayan. You don't need to pay for any fees to enjoy your swimming, except for the cottages. It ranges from Php300-500 depending on the season. There are also cottages along the beach in which you can stay for overnight that ranges from Php1500-4000 depending also on the size and the season.
There are also resorts or hotels if you want, and their are lot to choose from. Here are some of the resorts, you can check them out. (Puerto del Sol, El Pescador Resort, Rock Garden Resort, Villa Carolina Resort, Punta Reviera Resort, Treasures of Bolinao Resort, Costa Del Fuego, Garden Paradise Resort)

Cape Bolinao Light house

The Cape Bolinao lighthouse is also located at Brgy. Patar. You can visit and see the panoramic view of the sea, after or before going to Patar beach.

Aside from the beach, we also have the cave.

Enchanted Cave is one of the most popular cave on Bolinao. They have entrance fee of Php50 and Php150 if you you are going to swim inside the cave. They also have tour guides that will narrate the history of the cave and why it was one of the most visited tourist spot in Bolinao. The water is very clear and cold. You can also visit the other cave, the Cindy's cave which is also along Brgy. Patar.

Beach, Cave, and now Falls. There are two falls in Bolinao, the Tara Falls and Bolinao Falls.

Tara Falls

Bolinao Falls

Tara Falls is located at Brgy. Tara. A 15-20 minutes away from the Bayan. The water falls is now that okay anymore, but the water is good. It's cold, clear water and you don't need to pay anything to enjoy swimming.
Bolinao falls is farther. It is located at Brgy. Samang Norte and it takes 30-45 minutes ride and the path leading to falls is very rough road. But the long ride and rough road is worth it. There are two falls actually in Bolinao falls, they call it the falls 1 and falls 2. What I shown above is the Falls 2. It was only my second time to come and visit the falls, and yes, it was so beautiful. You can enjoy swimming with the cool and clear water. But of you're not a great swimmer, better to be careful  because it's very deep. You can also rent salbabida for only Php30.

If you're planning a summer getaway with your family or friends, try and visit Bolinao. Explore, enjoy and appreciate the treasures and beauty of Bolinao.
